Mostly In-House

These last few months have been busy ones. We’ve been standing with the WGA, following the strike news and tackling some DIY projects, including finishing our office renovation.

In April, we attended two of a five-part Neil Gaiman lecture series at Bard College. It was incredible listening to him speak about why stories matter, gaining insight on his creative strategies and sponging up all his advice.

In June, we finished post production on C.A.T. a Cosmic Alien Thing and it is officially complete! Head over to the Short Films page to check out our press kit and subscribe to stay up to date on its future festival run.

Also, I joined the Coach House Players. They are the longest running community theater organization in Ulster County, putting on several stage productions each year.

Last really cool thing we’re doing is reading The Anatomy of Genres book by John Truby. It’s an in-depth breakdown of story genres. We both are genre agnostic writers - it is a great tool for blending genres.

Chronicles of Being Human

In May, we attended my lil sister’s theatrical debut in Pandemonium. It’s about the Greek gods living incognito among the mortals in NYC, but when Zeus is murdered by one of their own, it is up to the goddess of wisdom, Minerva, to find out who is behind the betrayal. Laney was one of the villains and played the part masterfully!

I completed another trip around the sun and Jaime gifted me a new hobby - paddle boarding!

And perhaps the most exciting news this quarter - meet Nixo, a 12-week old kitty rescued from a Kentucky shelter. She is the sweetest little weirdo we weren’t expecting.

Fast Foward

The next six months we will be anxiously awaiting film festival notifications for C.A.T. And we’re looking forward to three more Neil Gaiman lectures in October.
